I live and work in Atlanta, a town commonly thought to be hostile to bicycles.
I drove to work the last few years. I paid the expense of maintenance and fuel for a car used every day, of insurance for a car used for commuting, and of parking in Midtown Atlanta. I also suffered the negative health effects of sitting on my butt all day, every day, at work, and going to and from work.
I have recently committed to integrating bicycle riding into my life. I bicycle to work almost every day, and try to handle shopping and other trips on the bicycle. I’m learning tricks as I go. It’s a learning process, and I hope to share what I learn with other prospective cyclists.
Let’s go ride bikes!
